Human nervous system
Human Nervous System
1) Central Nervous System(C.N.S).
2) Peripheral Nervous System(P.N.S)
3) Autonomic Nervous System(A.N.S)
C.N.S- Brain and spinal cord
P.N.S- Cranial Nerves and spinal nerves.
A.N.S- Ganglion cells that help involuntary action.
Brain
•It is a delicate organ present in a bony box called Cranium.
•Cranium protects the brain from injury and mechanical shocks.
•Brain has three membranes: Arachnoid, Pia mater and dura mater.
•The fluid-filled b/w the membranes is Cerebrospinal Fluid.
The brain has classified into three parts
1) Forebrain
2) Midbrain
3) Hindbrain
Forebrain three parts
• Hypothalamus
• Cerebrum
• Olfactory
Cerebrum- It is the centre of thinking, memory, intelligence, Learning, reasoning and creativity etc.
Olfactory- It has a centre of smell.
Midbrain
It is a centre of visual (seeing) and auditory (listening) receptors.
Hindbrain three parts
•Pons
•Cerebellum
•Medulla Oblongata
Pons- It is the centre of respiration.
Cerebellum- It controls thinking, walking and posture etc.
Medulla Oblongata- It Controls respiration digestion etc.
Brain stem: The mid brains and hindbrain form the brain stem.
