Structure of nephron
Structure of nephron
1) Glorerucless
2) Bow Man's capsule
3) Proximal Convoculated tubeless (PCT)
4) Loop of Henle
a) Ascending
b) Descending
5) Distil C.T
6) Collective tube
The function of nephron/urine concentration
1) Ultrafiltration
2) Selective Reabsorption
3) Secretion
1) Ultrafiltration
The glomerulus filters the deoxygenated blood into oxygenated blood and transports it back out of the kidney.
2) Selective Reabsorption
The different parts of the nephron absorb different materials.
P.C.T.- 80% water, glucose, salt Ascending loop of Henle- Urine
Vasorecta- Glucose, amino acids
D.C.T- Facilitated absorption of 20%water with the help of hormones.
3) Secretion
Excess waste is secreted out of getting the kidney.
4)Micturition
The process of throwing urine out of the body through the Urethra is called micturition.
This action is Controlled by Lorain.
Urine
• The human urine is yellow due to Bilruvin secreted by the liver.
• The urine is slightly acidic.
Diabetes Incipidus
When a person frequently passes urine is called diabetes Incipidus.
It is a disease caused due to malfunctioning D.C.T.
Hemodialysis
The artificial method of blood filtration outside the body with the help of a dialysis machine is called haemodialysis. Hemodialysis act as an artificial kidney.
